IIHMF Deep Tech Event Empowers UP Startups to Connect with Investors and Policymakers

The Innovation and Incubation Hub MNNIT Foundation (IIHMF) at MNNIT Allahabad recently launched an exciting initiative called Deep Tech Hunt 2026, aimed at providing emerging deep-tech startups in Uttar Pradesh (UP) with an invaluable opportunity to showcase their innovations. By connecting entrepreneurs with seasoned investors, mentors, and policymakers, this event seeks to catalyze the growth and exposure of cutting-edge technology ventures across the state.

UP Emerging as a Hub for Technological Innovation

According to Ram Kumar Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of IIHMF, Uttar Pradesh has quickly evolved into a thriving center of innovation. The region boasts a growing number of promising startups focused on advanced technologies being developed within universities, research institutions, and incubation centers. However, many of these ventures face challenges in gaining visibility among potential investors and venture capital firms, limiting their growth potential.

Bridging the Gap: Deep Tech Hunt 2026

To address these challenges, Deep Tech Hunt 2026 has been meticulously designed as a platform to bridge the exposure gap for startups. This program invites early-stage startups — from Seed to Series A funding rounds — that are registered in UP and innovating in domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Semiconductor Technologies, SpaceTech, DefenceTech, Biotechnology, Climate Tech, Advanced Materials, and CleanTech.

Event Structure and Participation

The Deep Tech Hunt will be conducted across multiple cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Noida, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur. Startups will present their ideas and prototypes before expert panels at their nearest host incubator. The most promising ventures from these regional rounds will advance to a grand finale, where they will have the opportunity to pitch directly to venture capital investors and senior government officials.

For the Prayagraj region specifically, the pitching session is scheduled at IIHMF, MNNIT Allahabad, on June 30, 2026. The deadline for submitting applications is June 26, 2026. Entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators, faculty members, and students working on deep-tech solutions are encouraged to apply before this deadline.

Additional Support: IIHMF Startup Cohort 5.0

In addition to Deep Tech Hunt 2026, IIHMF has opened applications for Startup Cohort 5.0 until June 30, 2026. This cohort offers selected startups incubation support, mentoring, investor networking, and assistance with technology commercialization, further enhancing their chances of success.

The Importance of Supporting Deep Tech Startups

Deep technology startups are at the forefront of solving complex challenges using advanced scientific and engineering innovations. By nurturing these ventures, UP not only promotes economic growth but also establishes itself as a key player in sectors that drive future technologies globally.

Events like Deep Tech Hunt 2026 serve as vital connections that enable startups to access resources, funding, and strategic guidance. This ecosystem support is essential to transforming innovative ideas into scalable businesses that can compete on both national and international stages.
