Uttar Pradesh TGT Exam 2026: Exam Conducted Across State; 9 Impersonators Caught
On June 3, 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission successfully conducted the written examination for the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) across the state. This large-scale exam was held to fill teaching positions in various government schools, attracting a total of 2,21,489 candidates.

The TGT exam was conducted in two shifts at numerous centers spread across districts in Uttar Pradesh. The first shift took place at 514 examination centers, covering four subjects: Social Science, Physical Education, Science, and Urdu. The second shift was organized at 508 centers and included subjects such as Hindi, Mathematics, Agriculture, and Music Vocal.
Altogether, the exam covered eight subjects and was held in 36 districts throughout the state. The participation rate was significant, with nearly equal representation of male and female candidates; 45.41% of the candidates were female, and 52.42% were male.

Given the vast scale of the examination, strict security protocols were implemented. An AI Integrated Control Command Room was set up by the Commission to monitor all exam centers closely. This advanced surveillance ensured the integrity and smooth conduct of the examination process across multiple locations.
Incidents of Impersonation and Actions Taken
Despite rigorous monitoring, authorities apprehended impersonators during the exam. In the first shift, six impersonators were caught — two each in Lucknow, Bareilly, and Chitrakoot, and one each in Jaunpur and Mirzapur. During the second shift, three fake candidates were identified — two in Lucknow and one in Hathras.
In total, nine impersonators were arrested on the spot by local police, while two others managed to flee from the examination centers. Legal proceedings and further actions are underway against all involved individuals to uphold examination fairness and deterrence against malpractice.
